How to Move Data from Row to Column in Excel ?


 

First Method:-

1. Using Paste Special Command to Move Data from Row to Column in Excel

Step 1:-

·         Select the data table below to start.

·        Then press CTRL+C on the keyboard to copy the currently chosen table.


Step 2:-

    ·        Additionally, choose the new cell into which you wish to paste your transposed data

    ·        Select the Transpose icon next.


Step 3:-

    ·   As a result, the graph below will illustrate the outcomes of moving the data from row to column.





Second Method:-

2. Utilizing TRANSPOSE Function to Move Data from Row to Column.


Step 1:-

  •     Choose as many empty cells as there are rows and columns in your main table, but in the opposite direction. For instance, our sample data table has a total of 6 rows and 6 columns, including headings. Due to the TRANSPOSE function's ability to change columns into rows, we opt for a range of 6 columns and 6 rows.

  •     Now enter the formula below in the upper-left blank cell.

  • =TRANSPOSE(B4:G9)


Step 2:-

  •      Finally, the effects of moving the data from row to column are shown in the graph below.
